Born in Cardiff, my childhood was largely lived ''backstage' in Variety Theatres, as I toured with my father

From 1969-72 I was an Undergraduate at Christ's College, Cambridge where I read History. BA 1972. MA 1976
My Director of Studies was Simon Schama
I also gained my 'Cambridge Blue' in each of my three years, as well as being an International Athlete.
Subsequently I became Black Belt and Instructor in the Japanese Martial Art of Aikido
For 10 years after graduating I worked in Arts Administration in the South West of England
I helped develop and fund a variety of arts policies and initiatives in the region.
In 1984, when I was its Director I chose to leave South West Arts to become a freelance writer.
That is the career I have pursued to the present day, with the addition of gaining further qualifications
in Psychotherapy and Clinical Hypnotherapy , seeing a wide range of clients in two Practices in Bristol.
I was also a Clinical Supervisor, mentoring a group of other working therapists, and a Counsellor to NHS Hospital Doctors.
