Roger Stennett
Born in Cardiff. My childhood was largely lived 'backstage' in Variety Theatres, as we toured around the UK with my father Comedian, Jazz Guitarist and Actor, Stan Stennett MBE, who spent 70 years as an Entertainer.
I was an Undergraduate at Christ's College, Cambridge where I read History. BA 1972 / MA 1976
I gained my sporting 'Cambridge Blue' against Oxford in each of my 3 years, as well as being an International Athlete.
Later I became a Black Belt ('Shodan') and an Instructor in the Japanese Martial Arts of Aikido
After graduating I worked in Arts Administration in the South West of England
Over 10 years I helped to develop, and fund, a variety of regional arts policies and initiatives.
In 1984, when I was its Director I left South West Arts to become a Freelance Writer.
I also gained addition postgraduate qualifications :
Psychotherapy and Clinical Hypnotherapy
I was also a Clinical Supervisor and a Counsellor to NHS Hospital Doctors
